Annastasia O'Looney, Student Writer

My name is Annastasia O’Looney, I am a senior here at GNA and this is my first year writing with the GNA Insider. I have been living in Nanticoke for nearly five years now. I am originally from Ireland. I grew up in Drogheda until I was twelve and then moved to the United States. I have three siblings, two older sisters and one younger brother. Here at GNA, I am a member of the Hanover/Nanticoke girl's tennis team. This year is the first year GNA has had a girls' tennis team. During this school year, I have the responsibility of being Student Council’s Historian. My role as Historian is to document and take photographs of the events that Student Council organizes or the fundraisers we participate in.

Outside of school, I am an active member of the Nanticoke Girl Scout Troop. Unfortunately, this will be my last year participating in Girl Scouts. I have been a member of the troop since 2018 and I enjoy every minute of it. I really enjoy cookie sales and world thinking day. When I am at home I like to paint, draw, and read.

After high school, I will be attending East Stroudsburg University. I will be majoring in criminal justice and minoring in forensic sciences. I hope to be a forensic laboratory technician. I like to watch shows based on forensic sciences and CSI based, and it's a career I can see myself in.
