The Class of 2023’s Senior Superlatives have officially been unveiled, and the winners for all categories have been recognized.

Today, I had the pleasure of speaking with the 2023 “Most Artistically Inclined Male” winner, Francesco Danza. Francesco is a multi-talented artist that utilizes paints and oils for his work. Francesco intends to further his artistic career through college.

N: ‘How does it feel to be your class’s art superlative?’

F: “Surprising. We have numerous amazing artists in our grade and receiving the superlative feels almost incongruous.”

N: ‘Describe what art is / what it means to you.’

F: “Art is expression. Art is culture, it is the substance of our society. When we die, art will be all that’s left. Not money, not the daily tasks we muddle through every day. In the grand scheme of things our culture is defined by art.”

N: ‘When and why did you start pursuing art?’

F: “My parents are both artists, so I was surrounded by art for my entire life.”

N: ‘What is your favorite piece you’ve ever done?’

F: “Always my most recent artwork. Often times we have affairs with our artwork, creating in the heat of passion, and waking up in the morning and seeing the faults with our artwork.”

Francesco intends to submit his art for more competitions and showcases and will continue to represent the GNA Class of 2023 as our Most Artistic Male.
