Lance Jenson, Student Writer
My name is Lance Jenson, and I am a senior at the Greater Nanticoke Area High School. While I have been around the school for quite some time, this is my first year as a staff member of The GNA Insider. I have been attending the Greater Nanticoke Area School District for my whole life, and I plan on coming back to teach at the district in the near future. If teaching is not viable, I will pursue whichever career life leads me to.
When I am not spending time doing work for my Advanced Placement courses or running things as the president of the GNA Student Council, I like to relax at home and bond with the music around me. I’m an avid listener, but, unfortunately, not a fantastic player; I do, however, intend to improve my guitar skills. I am a firm believer in “practice makes better [but not perfect],” because there is always room for some improvement—nobody is perfect. In addition to music, I enjoy occasionally watching films, and I adore playing nearly any video game I come across.
Aside from my home life, I find myself very involved in extracurricular activities. As I mentioned previously, I am the president of the GNA Student Council; I am also an active member and participant in Nanticoke’s Quizbowl team, National Honor Society, and the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS). Besides academics, I am heavily involved in the school’s theatre, finding myself in the sound booth for the entire play season and assisting Mrs. Rutkowski with any other desired manner with the various events she directs.
