Mackenzie Hall, Student Writer
My name is Mackenzie Hall, I am currently a senior at Greater Nanticoke Area High School, and this is my first year in journalism. Throughout my high school career, I have been a part of the National Honors Society, World Language Honors Society, and Student Council, have competed in Pennsylvania’s Junior Academy of Science three times and started a nonprofit called the Wizards of Wonder through the Junior Leadership program. Currently, I am Student Council President and am balancing four AP classes with my various other responsibilities at school and home along with my personal relations.
I would have to say that some of my greatest passions lie in literature, whether that involves reading a classic novel or writing poetry. I also spend my time cooking new recipes, painting with oil pastels, and making good memories with those that I love. I enjoy topics such as gender studies, political science, and psychology; however, I have always had a great love for the STEM field as well, and have worked to ensure that my time in school engages that interest.
I am in the process of applying to college through the QuestBridge program with intentions of majoring in Biology with a possible minor in Neuroscience or Psychology. I aspire to become a Pediatric Neurosurgeon, though with a mind that appreciates many possibilities, I could see myself pursuing a career related to law or global affairs. No matter what happens, I highly look forward to seeing how my future plays out.
