Wrestling team turning heads

It’s been a rough 15 years for the Nanticoke wrestling team, but the 2017-2018 has been a magical ride for the Trojans.

The Trojan wrestling team made it to the District dules for the first time in 15 years with the help of Adam Eckhart, Isaiah Johnson, Joseph Sauers, and many others.

Head coach Harold Shotwell was very excited after his teams 51-27 win over Berwick. “Anything can happen,” Nanticoke Area coach Harold Shotwell said. “The sky’s the limit, and we’re just super excited to be there and show that hopefully Nanticoke wrestling is around for a while.”

It didn’t stop there though. The team came back to practice knowing that the task was not done yet.

On Wednesday night, they took a loss to Scranton Prep but then came back and beat Berwick once again in the consolation.

Next, the team will travel to Pittston Area for a 10:30 match against Lake Lehman.

Their magical ride is not done yet.

Good luck Trojan Wrestlers!
