Maya Davison, Student Writer
My name is Maya Davison, and a sophomore this year at Greater Nanticoke High School. I'll be a guest writer this year for The GNA Insider, but I'm very well considering participating in Journalism full time in the future. I've been at this district my entire educational career, and I've become very attached to the community, and family, that makes up GNA.
If I don't have my head stuck in a Stephen King book or neck deep in Algebra homework, I'm using my time to better my artistic skills. I have always had an extreme passion for art. It feels like I've been drawing since I had the ability to hold a pencil, but really, I've only been practicing for five or six years. I also enjoy music, and I sometimes use it for inspiration when I start to work on an art project. As I mentioned earlier, I enjoy reading, writing, and taking a moment out of each day to daydream. I try to let my mind take a break because, throughout the day, I can catch myself using it too much.
Out of school and at home, I try to throw myself into hobbies and pastimes. I am involved in the school's theater and chorus, which is all operated by Mrs. Rutkowski. I'm an avid Broadway nerd, and the fact that we have a chorus and theater program makes me very proud of our district. I'm a member of our district's Quizbowl team since last school year.
