Senior Katie Krieger is on the path to becoming GNA’s next valedictorian. With only a few months left for GNA seniors, Katie’s grades and her academic habits have put her near the top of her class.
The GNA Insider sat down with Katie to ask her about her study habits and strategies.
To Katie, the most labor-intensive and time-consuming subjects are math and science. To her, these subjects require more study time and a spaced-out study schedule.
For Katie, her special routine includes a clean study space reflecting a clean mind while avoiding distractions as much as possible, putting her phone in a separate room or even shutting it off.
The study methods she uses to maintain her stellar grades are to space out consistent study sessions and not cram all of the information the night before and use as many resources as possible, such as given study guides and online quizzes and tests.
Test stress and anxiety can be a lethal killer to grades. Panicking and second-guessing can lead to overthinking and wrong answers. Katie manages this with her repetitive and consistent study and review. Doing this ensures you know all of the material before and during the test.
Katie believes that studying is a crucial part of school and staying consistent and disciplined will help anyone improve their grades.
