Hannah Fink, Student Writer
My name is Hannah Fink, and I’m a senior at GNA. I fearlessly fill the role of Student Council President and I currently work at an ice cream shop. I have six slightly different cameras that I use to do amateur photography. I often spend my time as a Swiftie, constantly making friendship bracelets. I even went to Paris to attend one of her concerts.
In my free time, I like to read, bake, and hang out with friends. My current favorite song is “New Year’s Day” by Taylor Swift. I like to consider myself a Taylor Swift connoisseur, constantly collecting her merch items and listening to her music 24/7. My guilty pleasure is eating peanut butter smidgens and chocolate wave cake.
At this time, my path for the future is uncertain. While I intend to go to college, I have yet to decide on the field that interests me the most. I hope to enter a program that I'm passionate about. I hope that my choice will be fulfilling and lucrative. It would be nice to own a beach house one day.
Mateo J. Ricci, Student Writer
My name is Mateo Ricci, and I’m a Junior here at Greater Nanticoke Area High School. I’m originally from the Bronx, New York. I began attending Nanticoke in the 5th grade, but not before attending 8 other schools whilst my family moved around. I’ve always been interested in the arts, and I’ve been an active member of the GNA Marching band, Jazz band, and Concert band for 3 years now. I play the Alto and Tenor Saxophone, Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, and Percussion, including Mallet Percussion. I’m also active in the GNA theater program, chorus, and student council. I’m the oldest of 8 siblings, and I consider myself an activist and strive to amplify the voices of others who think they don't have one.
My hobbies consist of writing/playing music, drawing, and literature. I also love to play video games with my friends and go to football games with the band every Friday. I am a firm believer that music can bring people together as equals, and as a queer, autistic Hispanic person, I believe that everybody IS equal, and deserves equal opportunities in life.
I would love to pursue my passions as careers. After High School, I hope to attend a college in New York where I will major in mass communications, and minor in music theory and human rights. I am extremely passionate about the futures of our generations, and I will work to ensure that they have one and want to encourage others to do the same.
Chriselda Sedorchuk, Student Writer
My name is Chriselda Sedorchuk, and I am currently a senior at GNA. I've been attending GNA my whole life. This is my first year in the journalism program. I currently work in an ice cream shop. I've participated in chorus throughout elementary and middle school, and I also played softball in middle school. I spend a lot of time taking photos to capture and remember the memories I make.
In my free time, I like to read, watch movies, and play video games when I get the chance. My favorite movie series is The Hunger Games. My favorite music artists are Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, and Olivia Rodrigo. I am also a Marvel and DC fan. I would love to travel the world one day and photograph all the beautiful scenery. I would love to visit France or Italy.
At this time, I am stuck on two very different future jobs. I would like to go into the trades for welding, but my other choice would be to go to college to get a bachelor's degree in criminal justice so I can become a detective. I hope I get the chance to live close to a beach one day.
McKayla Sims, Student Writer
My name is McKayla Sims, and I'm a sophomore at the Greater Nanticoke Area High School. This is my first year at this school and it's also my first year in a journalism class. In the past years, I went to Wyoming Valley West. At Valley West, I was part of the chorus classes and the 2026 club.
Some of my hobbies include going on walks, watching movies with my little sister, and playing with my cat. I love reading and listening to podcasts and music on my phone - especially crime stories. I also like photography and writing, doing makeup, and living life to the fullest.
In the future, I see myself working in a good job and living in a big house with one cat. I see myself as a very successful woman who travels the world. I can't wait to see where the future takes me.
Taylor Kreitzer, Student Writer
My name is Taylor Kreitzer, and I'm a Junior at GNA High School. I've lived in Nanticoke my whole life since head-start. I moved schools at the end of second grade and went to Hanover for two and a half years. I then came back to Nanticoke in fourth grade, and have been here ever since. This is my second year in the journalism program, and I plan to keep doing it up until my senior year!
Some of my hobbies include drawing, painting, biking, and working out. Not many people know that I boxed, and I'm very passionate about it. I haven't always boxed; I started off with cheer for a while and continued up until I was twelve. I did boxing for two years and instead of boxing I now work harder toward my academics.
After high school, I plan to go to Wilkes University or PSWU, to study forensic science and criminology. Even though I'm not set in stone for my future career, I just work towards my goal. This is the biggest goal I have set for myself and I can't wait to hopefully achieve it!
