The small state of Pennsylvania has been the breeding ground for numerous world records and should continue to be the champion of new ones to come. The following is a list of 10 interesting world records set in Pennsylvania (information achieved from onlyinyourstate.com):

  1. Fastest speed on a racehorse: Winning Brew (trained by Francis Vitale) achieved a speed of 43.97 mph. Record set on May 14, 2008.
  2. Largest paint swatch: PPG Pittsburgh Paints set this record in 2011 with a 68 square foot swatch of spring green paint.
  3. Most skips of a skipping stone: Kurt Steiner beat the former world record achieving 88 skips with a skipping stone (former record: 65 skips) on September 6, 2013.

  4. Most dogs walked by one person at one time: In October of 2011, Josph Orsino walked 35 dogs at one time.
  5. Most balloon sculptures to be made in one hour: In November of 2007, John Cassidy created 747 balloon animals in one hour (no reason to clown around).
  6. Fastest time to consume a muffin with no hands: On November 19, 2013, Kyle Moyer devoured a muffin in a matter of 28.18 seconds.
  7. Largest litter of goats: In 2006, six pygmy goats were the result of one litter.
  8. Largest s’more: In May 2014, a group of volunteers at Deer Run Camping Resort created a 267 pound s’more.
  9. Highest insured hair: Football player Troy Polamalu’s hair is insured by Head & Shoulders for $1,000,000.
  10.  Largest collection of Christmas tree stands: In November 2018, the largest collection of Christmas tree stands (1,179) lined the walls inside Kohl’s Stony Hill Tree Farm near Danville.
  11. (Bonus) Largest truck convoy: In May of 2016, Make-A-Wish Foundation set a new Guinness World Record for the largest truck convoy with 590 trucks.
