Snow falls down onto the ground, the ground white the trees white,

everything is white.

Not a single car driving on the streets, the sun setting giving the sky

a multitude of colors.

Pinks, reds, and purples, around this time,

you truly to see the beauty of winter.

But no one is there to see it, for their inside,

kids not even thinking of going outside, not thinking of snow ball fights,

or snow angles.

No, they sit inside and stare at a screen, their parents,

with unseeing eyes, walk around, not seeming to care.

No they sit on their computer and phones,

searching for gifts, and stressing about money, and what the best sale is.

It’s a sad sight to see, on one of the most joyous holidays,

no one even knows what it means.

the feeling of wonder, the feeling of the warm glow,

and happy spirits, gone out like a flame of a candle.

leaving nothing but the dismal bitter smell of its smoke in its wake.

For even I, I cannot feel the wonder anymore, there is no feeling,

it feels almost empty, and it makes me so… distraught.

That this is how it is now, this is how the world is.

I guess that even now, the world forgets to take a holiday.
