College Football Playoff rankings for week 13.

Thanksgiving came early for the top four teams, as each one feasted on their opponents Saturday. The Tide, Tigers, Irish and Wolverines remain the top four teams for the third week. Fifth ranked Georgia defeated UMass by scoring 66 points, which was the most the bulldogs have scored since the 2014 rout of Troy. Oklahoma and LSU both won their home games. Gardner Minshew set a school record with seven passing touchdowns as Washington State smoked Arizona with a 69-28 victory. The biggest surprise of the week took place in Stillwater Oklahoma where Oklahoma State upset number nine West Virginia on the last play of the game. Ohio State could not stop the running attack of the terrapins, but managed to escape Maryland in overtime. UCF extended the nation’s longest active win streak to 23 with a win against then ranked 24 Cincinnati Bear cats. Central Florida passed Ohio State in the rankings, becoming the first group of five team to pass a power five team when both teams won. The two teams that dropped from the rankings were Cincinnati and Boston College. The two teams that introduced themselves into the rankings were Pittsburgh and Texas A&M. The rest of the rankings were as followed.

1: Alabama

Alabama has won 81 straight games against unranked teams. After a shocking 10-10 halftime score, the Tide blew past The Citadel with a 50-17 win. Alabama will face the only team that beat them last year in the regular season finale. The Auburn Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide will face off in the Iron Bowl, a rivalry which dates back to 1893. Alabama looks to build momentum going into the SEC championship game against Georgia, but the tigers have a defense that leads the SEC in sacks (34) and could shock them if they look ahead.

Clemson finished their last ACC game of the regular season by taking down Duke. The Tigers are looking to finish the season undefeated after having back to back one loss regular seasons. They close out the season when they face their rival South Carolina. The Tigers will play Pittsburgh in the ACC championship game. The Panthers beat Clemson two years ago. Could it happen again?

3: Notre Dame

Notre Dame stomped number 12 Syracuse at Yankee Stadium. They beat Syracuse 36-3 to move to 11-0 on the season. The defense of Notre Dame made forced Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungee to leave the game with an upper body injury. The Irish will travel to Southern California to face a struggling USC team in the season finale. Notre Dame is a virtual lock for the playoffs this year. The Irish beat the Trojans last year 49-14.
