Trojans win WVC Division
For the first time since 2003, the GNA boys basketball team has won the WVC divisional title. Many of players on the current team were only 2-3 years old the last time a Nanticoke basketball team has won the division, and some of the freshman weren’t even born yet! Assistant coach Zach Pientka was on the championship team back in 2003, when the Trojans ended up winning the district title as well.
The Trojans won on Friday against GAR 58-39 to capture their first title in 15 years. The team is now 17-3 on the year with two games left in the regular season.
As of right now, the team will finish as one of the top two seeds in the district playoffs. On Tuesday, February, 13th they play at home against the Tunkhannock Tigers, JV 6:15 and Varsity to follow.
