My name is Hunter Vitkauskas, and I am a Junior here at Greater Area Nanticoke. I have lived in Nanticoke my entire life. This is my second year participating in Journalism. I am an active member of the GNA art club, Key Club, Future Business Leaders of America, and Aevidum.  Some of my hobbies include reading and writing. I see myself in ten years somewhere in Europe or New England. I have multiple countries on my bucket list as I love to travel.  After GNA I have plenty of colleges I wish to apply to including Penn State, Boston University, or UCLA. I would love to get my degree in Political Science. My goal would be to become either an attorney or a law professor.

Hello! My name is Alex O’Looney, and I’m a senior at GNA. I have lived in Nanticoke since 2018 after moving from Ireland. I am a multi-sport athlete, I play soccer, cross-country, swim, and track. I also hold a position in the Key Club. Along with school and sports, I am a volunteer firefighter with the Nanticoke Fire Department. I have spent the last 2 and a half years training with the fire department. When I’m not doing training I am usually waiting for a fire call. In my free time, I typically watch sports, hang out with friends, and think about Ryan Reynolds. After High School, I am going down to Fort Moore, Georgia to attend training for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. After spending 22 weeks down there, I plan on going to either Kings College or Misericordia University to study criminal justice. I also hope to go into the Pennsylvania State Police.

My name is Pyper Lewis, and I am a sophomore at GNA High School. This is my first year doing journalism. I am definitely a math nerd. I have been involved with GNA’s softball team since my freshman year. While I have very few friends, I know many people. My hobbies include softball, playing video games, hanging out with family and friends, and math. I mostly enjoy playing softball with my friends. Some of the video games I play are Fortnite and Minecraft. When I spend time with my family and friends, we watch movies together. I have always enjoyed math since a young age, and amazing teachers have helped me enjoy the subject. I plan to go to college in the near future. My future education is still undecided; however, I do know that I want to pursue something related to math. I still have time to decide. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for me!

My name is Sophia Gronka and this is my last year of high school. I moved to Nanticoke at the beginning of my sophomore year. I’m in Key Club and Drama Club because I love getting involved in school and helping out others. One of my biggest hobbies is refurbishing. I love taking a vintage piece to fix it up and give it some life again. In my opinion, after all that work it’s the best trophy you can get. My other passions are reading, music, and fashion. I love the vintage 2000s look and especially the music. I am taking AP Literature this year because I love reading and challenging myself to find deeper meanings in important and noteworthy books. In the future, I want to study forensics and psychology, and possibly law too. I would love to go to West Virginia University because my sister goes there. They have an amazing forensics program and the campus is beautiful. Another goal for my future is to keep my side hustle of refurbishing antiques, it is an awesome hobby to have to make extra money on the side. A really big goal of mine is to buy a house in Naples Florida where I have family there. I have been visiting there my whole life so in the future, I would love to have a vacation home there.

My name is Lyrik Alonso. I’m a junior in high school and am in the Art Club. I enjoy doing crafts such as crocheting, knitting, and sewing. I also enjoy art, reading, and fashion design. When crocheting, I love making clothes like tops and sweaters. I also like making household things like coasters and want to start making lace. When it comes to art I tend to sketch a lot. I can also do more detailed drawings like portraits or still lifes. I adore reading fantasy and mystery books. With fashion design and sewing, I love to drape and create pieces while drawing looks to be used on runways. In the future, I aspire to pursue my interest in fashion design by going to a fashion school in Manhattan. I want to further my education here at GNA and continue my honors classes. By senior year, I hope to be a part of the language honors society, and multiple AP classes. I hope to be more involved in school groups and clubs.

My name is Hannah Fink, and I’m a senior at GNA. I fearlessly fill the role of Student Council President and I currently work at a grocery store. I have six slightly different cameras that I use to do amateur photography. I often spend my time as a Swiftie, constantly making friendship bracelets. I even went to Paris and Canada to attend two of her concerts.        In my free time, I like to read, bake, and hang out with friends. My all-time favorite song is “New Year’s Day” by Taylor Swift. I like to consider myself a Taylor Swift connoisseur, constantly collecting her merch items and listening to her music 24/7. My guilty pleasure is eating peanut butter smidgens and chocolate wave cake.    At this time, my path for the future is uncertain. While I intend to go to college, I have yet to decide on the field that interests me the most. I hope to enter a program that I’m passionate about. I hope that my choice will be fulfilling and lucrative. It would be nice to own a beach house one day.
