My name is Hunter Vitkauskas, and I am a Senior here at Greater Nanticoke Area. This is my third year in Journalism. I am an active member of Key Club and Future Business Leaders of America, and I serve as the President of GNA’s Student Council. Some of my interests include analyzing television and films, as well as writing.  I see myself in 10 years, hopefully rich or working as a practicing attorney. I also love to travel, my bucket list countries include Iceland and France. My favorite genre of writing is specifically satirical media. After I graduate, I plan on going to college to major in Political Science. Eventually, I want to go to law school and become a practicing attorney, hopefully representing people who don’t have a voice.

My name is Maurice Smith and I am a senior at Greater Nanticoke Area. I used to live in Brooklyn, NY until I moved to Nanticoke when I was in 5th grade. This is my first year in Journalism and I am very excited to spend the school year in this class. I am involved in many of the arts at GNA, such as the Marching Band, Concert Band, and theater. I was also responsible for Key Club’s Webmaster last year. Hopefully, I will continue to be the Webmaster this year. In my free time, I love playing video games on my Xbox, watching TV Shows on Netflix, and scrolling on TikTok. I also love hanging out with friends and going to new places that I’ve never been to. I plan on going to college after this year and I plan on majoring in psychology. I would love to have a career in psychology and help out others in need when it comes to mental health.

My name is Sophia Gronka and this is my last year of high school. I moved to Nanticoke at the beginning of my sophomore year. I’m in Key Club and Drama Club because I love getting involved in school and helping out others. One of my biggest hobbies is refurbishing. I love taking a vintage piece to fix it up and give it some life again. In my opinion, after all that work it’s the best trophy you can get. My other passions are reading, music, and fashion. I love the vintage 2000s look and especially the music. I am taking AP Literature this year because I love reading and challenging myself to find deeper meanings in important and noteworthy books. In the future, I want to study forensics and psychology, and possibly law too. I would love to go to West Virginia University because my sister goes there. They have an amazing forensics program and the campus is beautiful. Another goal for my future is to keep my side hustle of refurbishing antiques, it is an awesome hobby to have to make extra money on the side. A really big goal of mine is to buy a house in Naples Florida where I have family there. I have been visiting there my whole life so in the future, I would love to have a vacation home there.

My name is Lyrik Alonso, and I am a senior at GNA and Treasurer of the Art Club. This is my second year of Journalism and I’m excited to have some fun. Over the summer, I mostly did my AP Lit summer work and celebrated my birthday. In my free time, I enjoy reading and writing. I love to sew and design clothing. I enjoy watching movies of any genre and listening to any type of music. In the future, my plan is to attend college back in NY, whether it be for teaching or fashion design. I have always loved the arts and working with children, as I am the oldest of 4.

My name is Natalynn Schwing, and I am a senior at Greater Nanticoke Area High School. I’ve been a student here since I was in the 6th grade. This is my first year in Journalism. I’m looking forward to spending the school year in this class.  I am involved in many clubs at this school. Some of those clubs are Key Club, Student Council, Chorus, and Board games club. I’m also in a college prep-program called Upward Bound. When I’m not volunteering or studying for my future, I am usually reading novels. My favorite genre is fantasy. I also enjoy taking my dogs on walks in my free time.  After high school, I plan to attend college. I hope to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After getting my degree I hope to work as a registered nurse. I plan on specializing in pediatrics.

My name is Hannah Fink, and I’m a senior at GNA. I fearlessly fill the role of Student Council President and I currently work at a grocery store. I have six slightly different cameras that I use to do amateur photography. I often spend my time as a Swiftie, constantly making friendship bracelets. I even went to Paris and Canada to attend two of her concerts.        In my free time, I like to read, bake, and hang out with friends. My all-time favorite song is “New Year’s Day” by Taylor Swift. I like to consider myself a Taylor Swift connoisseur, constantly collecting her merch items and listening to her music 24/7. My guilty pleasure is eating peanut butter smidgens and chocolate wave cake.    At this time, my path for the future is uncertain. While I intend to go to college, I have yet to decide on the field that interests me the most. I hope to enter a program that I’m passionate about. I hope that my choice will be fulfilling and lucrative. It would be nice to own a beach house one day.
