The state of Pennsylvania requires that all students in Kindergarten, Grade 3, Grade 7, and new entrants to Grade 1 have a dental exam. This school year, we partnered with a program called Mobile Dentist.
Mobile Dentists is an in-school dental program designed to address today’s dental crisis and keep children healthy. This program is open to ALL grades Pre-K through 12. The program consists of locally licensed dentists, hygienists, and assistants to provide quality care. Each student will receive an exam, cleaning, fluoride, sealants, x-rays, and the application of Silver Diamine Fluoride as needed. Additional dental work may also include fillings, extractions of problematic baby teeth, performing a pulpotomy (baby tooth nerve treatment), numbing the mouth and teeth, and other procedures as needed.
**Please note parents will be notified prior to procedures such as extractions.**
Dental decay is the NO. 1 chronic childhood disease, but it is preventable with proper care. Our goal is to ensure every child has access to the dental services they need.
The Dentist will be at our school on Monday, November 5, 2024. However, it is subject to change depending on weather conditions or the availability of the dentist.
To sign your child up for the program, please complete the Mobile Dentist form and submit it to your child’s school nurse. You can also sign up via the online link: My School Dentist. All sign-ups must be complete by October 22nd.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with your school nurse.
