About the Contributors

Hannah Fink, Student Writer
My name is Hannah Fink, and I’m a senior at GNA. I fearlessly fill the role of Student Council President and I currently work at a grocery store. I have six slightly different cameras that I use to do amateur photography. I often spend my time as a Swiftie, constantly making friendship bracelets. I even went to Paris and Canada to attend two of her concerts.
In my free time, I like to read, bake, and hang out with friends. My all-time favorite song is “New Year’s Day” by Taylor Swift. I like to consider myself a Taylor Swift connoisseur, constantly collecting her merch items and listening to her music 24/7. My guilty pleasure is eating peanut butter smidgens and chocolate wave cake.
At this time, my path for the future is uncertain. While I intend to go to college, I have yet to decide on the field that interests me the most. I hope to enter a program that I’m passionate about. I hope that my choice will be fulfilling and lucrative. It would be nice to own a beach house one day.

Camden Keener, Student Writer
My name is Camden Keener, and I just started my senior year at GNA. I have lived in Nanticoke and attended GNA my entire life. I used to play multiple sports that included basketball, baseball, soccer, and lacrosse.
I am an avid sports watcher and watch either football, basketball, or baseball; whatever is on I will watch it. If I’m not watching any sports I try to watch a lot of movies and TV shows. I am a big fan of Marvel and Star Wars and have written many reviews of both. For TV shows I am currently watching The Sopranos and rewatching The Office. I also have a job at Gerritys and work around 14 hours per week during the school year and 30-35 hours during the summer.
Over this past summer, I have visited Susquehanna University and Kutztown University. Both were very nice schools and neither disappointed at all. I want to go to college for Sports Management because as I mentioned, most of my life revolves around sports. I am very excited to continue being in Journalism and I plan on writing more reviews more shows and movies. I also plan on starting to write articles on sports news.

Maurice Smith, Student Writer
My name is Maurice Smith and I am a senior at Greater Nanticoke Area. I used to live in Brooklyn, NY until I moved to Nanticoke when I was in 5th grade. This is my first year in Journalism and I am very excited to spend the school year in this class.
I am involved in many of the arts at GNA, such as the Marching Band, Concert Band, and theater. I was also responsible for Key Club’s Webmaster last year. Hopefully, I will continue to be the Webmaster this year. In my free time, I love playing video games on my Xbox, watching TV Shows on Netflix, and scrolling on TikTok. I also love hanging out with friends and going to new places that I’ve never been to.
I plan on going to college after this year and I plan on majoring in psychology. I would love to have a career in psychology and help out others in need when it comes to mental health.

Taylor Kreitzer, Student Writer
My name is Taylor Kreitzer, and I’m a Senior at GNA High School. I’ve lived in Nanticoke my whole life since head-start. I moved schools at the end of second grade and went to Hanover for two and a half years. I then came back to Nanticoke in fourth grade and have been here ever since. This is my third year in the journalism program, and I am honored to do this elective for my senior year!
Some of my hobbies include drawing, painting, boxing, and hanging out with my friends. Not many people know that I boxed, and I’m very passionate about it. I haven’t always boxed; I started with cheer for a while and continued up until I was twelve. I did boxing for two years, and instead of boxing, I now work harder toward my academics.
After high school, I plan to go to LCCC for my first two years. Then Penn-state my other two, to get my bachelor’s degree, to study sociology and criminology. Even though I’m not set in stone for my future career, I just work towards my goal. This is the biggest goal I have set for myself, and I can’t wait to hopefully achieve it!

Jackson Hull, Student Writer
My name is Jackson Hull, a junior at Greater Nanticoke High School. I have lived and gone to school in Nanticoke my entire life. This will be my first year as a student writer for The GNA Insider. I’m very thankful for the opportunity to write for the school paper.
Some hobbies I love are hiking/camping, playing baseball, hanging with my friends, listening to music, and going to the gym. Currently, I work as a caterer for Mission BBQ in Wilkes Barre. Something that not a lot of people know about me is that I play the bass for a band that I am in. We just started playing together and I’m really excited to see where it goes.
I plan on joining the Marines after graduation. I chose to join because it’s a unique experience, but I also have a lot of family members who were and are in the military. The Marines are the greatest military in the world and it’s an honor to be a part of that.

Pyper Lewis, Student Writer
My name is Pyper Lewis, and I am a Junior at GNA High School. This is my second year doing journalism. I still enjoy math. I definitely still only have a few friends and still know many people.
My hobbies include lifting, working, hanging out with family and friends, and math. I mostly enjoy going to the gym and lifting with my brother. Some of the video games I play are Fortnite and Minecraft. When I spend time with my family and friends, we watch movies together. I have always enjoyed math since a young age, and amazing teachers have helped me enjoy the subject. I plan to go to college in the near future. My future education is still undecided; however. I still don’t know what I want to do after high school. I don’t have much time to decide. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for me!
Lyrik Alonso, Student Writer
My name is Lyrik Alonso, and I am a senior at GNA and Treasurer of the Art Club. This is my second year of Journalism and I’m excited to have some fun.
Over the summer, I mostly did my AP Lit summer work and celebrated my birthday. In my free time, I enjoy reading and writing. I love to sew and design clothing. I enjoy watching movies of any genre and listening to any type of music.
In the future, my plan is to attend college back in NY, whether it be for teaching or fashion design. I have always loved the arts and working with children, as I am the oldest of 4.

Alex O’Looney, Student Writer
Hello! My name is Alex O’Looney, and I’m a senior at GNA. I have lived in Nanticoke since 2018 after moving from Ireland. I am a multi-sport athlete, I play soccer, cross-country, swim, and track. I also hold a position in the Key Club.
Along with school and sports, I am a volunteer firefighter with the Nanticoke Fire Department. I have spent the last 2 and a half years training with the fire department. When I’m not doing training I am usually waiting for a fire call. In my free time, I typically watch sports, hang out with friends, and think about Ryan Reynolds.
After High School, I am going down to Fort Moore, Georgia to attend training for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. After spending 22 weeks down there, I plan on going to either Kings College or Misericordia University to study criminal justice. I also hope to go into the Pennsylvania State Police.
