My Hero Academia takes place during a time period when superpowers, better known as quirks, reign supreme in everyday life. Students looking to use their powers for good may attend the Hero Course, eventually making themselves full-fledged heroes who stop crime and take down villains. Of these hero course students, Class 1A makes the top spot as the strongest class in the current UA school system. That being said, the members of this class have numerous powerful and extraordinary students who all help the team in some regard. While they’re mostly around the same level overall, some students claim the title of being “the strongest of the class”, and here are a top 5 of those members.
Number 5.) Ochaco Uraraka; Hero Name: Uravity
Uravity is one of the female students included in Class 1A, one of Deku’s closest friends, and the number 5 spot on our list. Uravity’s quirk allows her or other things she touches with her fingertips to become weightless, hence the name of her quirk, “Zero Gravity”. She has Gun Head Martial Arts Training under her belt but mainly consists of supporting the heavy hitters of Class 1A. She can make numerous items and things weightless at once and could also release all these items at will. She can also control how much less weight something has, allowing someone or something to not be completely weightless so it floats, but weigh less so a heavy burden isn’t a problem. For example, during the UA Sports Festival, Uravity applied her quirk to Deku and her team in order to jump higher when dodging attacks from other students. While saying she’s the fifth strongest in the class could be argued, she’s certainly up there in terms of being one of the best-supporting students for her classmates.
Number 4.) Fumikage Tokoyami; Hero Name: Tsukuyomi
Tsukuyomi is one of the male students included in Class 1A, a fighter who gets stronger at night, and a good mix of support and offense for the team. Tsukuyomi’s quirk allows him to call out a shadowy figure that can protect against most attacks and launch an offense of its own, hence the name, “Dark Shadow”. This quirk, as stated before gets stronger the darker the environment around Tsukuyomi is, making him out-strength most enemies with ease. However, this quirk’s downside is that Tsukuyomi has trouble controlling Dark Shadow whenever a massive outburst happens. To prevent this, Tsukuyomi has developed numerous ways of using Dark Shadow In a more versatile manner. For example, he can cover himself in his quirk which enhances his ability to fight and allows him to fly, making him one of the few members in Class 1A who can provide such support. Dark Shadow also has a mind of his own so it truly makes it a deadly quirk when used correctly, allowing Tsukuyomi his rightful spot at number 4.
Number 3.) Shoto Todoroki; Hero Name: Shoto
Shoto is a male student included in Class 1A, the son of the current number 1 hero, Endeavor, and brother of famous villain Touya, better known as Dabi. Shoto has two sides to his quirk, one being flames that can reach up to around 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit and an ice quirk that can freeze enemies on touch with currently unmeasurable levels of how cold his ice truly is. Originally against using his left side because of his father, Shoto has turned this power of his into his own and truly surpassed all expectations with his, “Half-Hot Half Cold” quirk. He can use his ice for multiple things like offense and defense. For offense, Shoto may create waves of ice or fire to launch at his enemies, combine the two for a deadly special move named, “Flashfreeze Heatwave”, create ice spike walls to wall off enemies, etc. For defense, Shoto may make a flame or ice wall to block his enemies, use ice to slide away or add speed to himself, use ice to capture and immobilize enemies, block off enemies in a single line for his fire attack, etc. Regardless Shoto is the rightful owner of his number 3 spot in the class and is a part of Class 1A’s very own “Big 3”.
Number 2.) Katsuki Bakugo; Hero Name: Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight
Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, better known as Bakugo or Kacchan is a male student included in Class 1A, the winner of the UA sports festival, and has quite possibly the most destructive power of the class. Using the sweat from his palms, Bakugo creates massive explosions from his palms and his aggressive personality matches his quirk, “Explosion” perfectly. Bakugo uses this versatile quirk for numerous offensive actions but it could also be used for defense. For defense, Bakugo can blow away massive attacks coming at him or incinerate them to mere dust with a single blast. The best example is during the UA Sports Festival when facing Ochacho. Ochaco launched hundreds of rocks and rubble down on Bakugo’s head, being certain of her victory. However, Bakugo launched a full-scale explosion directly above him and wiped out the entire attack. For offense, Bakuko is a master with his quirk. Number 1, he can create a circle with one hand and launch an armor-piercing attack named, “AP Shot” for long range. Number 2, he can use his explosions to spin himself numerous times a second and create a massive drill explosion named, “Howitzer Impact”. Number 3, he can use the mere light from his explosions as a massive stun grenade, hence the name, “Stun Grenade”. Number 4, Bakugo can propel himself forward at impressive speeds and close the distance instantly with his “Explosive Speed” special move. With that being said, there are numerous other things Bakugo can do with his abilities and it gives him full permission to be the second and close first strongest in his class.
Number 1.) Izuku Midoriya; Hero Name: Deku
Deku is a male student included in Class 1A, All Might’s successor, and the 8th user of One For All. As stated just before, Deku’s quirk is named, “One For All” which is the passing down of quirks from one user to another. Initially inherited from All Might, this quirk allows Deku to use the quirks from the previous 7 users and One For All in general enhances them each time it’s passed down. Deku’s 7 quirks consist of One For All, Gearshift, Float, Blackwhip, Smokescreen, Fa Jin, and Danger Sense, all of which provide him with a massive advantage when facing adversaries. In order for his body to hold up and handle all these quirks as well, Deku has to use One For All on a 1-100% scale, the higher the percentage the more power One For All fuels his body. His own special moves like his smashes and Full Cowling help Deku in combat as well, all enhanced by One For All’s percentage factor. It sounds difficult to use all these quirks practically at once so even besides his powerful quirk, Deku is a very strategic and high-battle IQ fighter. He makes numerous plans during fights, predicts very precisely about the enemy’s movement, and sees the best outcome of victory long before the fight concludes. Overall, Deku is a very strong fighter with a massive sense of Justice so it’s not the least bit surprising his hard work has given him the number 1 spot of his class.
