1.) “Don’t you have a Human heart? No, It was taken from me.”
During one of her battles, Maki was asked if she had a human heart for how ruthless she had become. But instead of taking it as an insult, she openly embraced it and accepted that she was no longer human, seeing as her abilities far surpassed any normal human anyway. The reason she said it was taken from her was because she realized that having a “human heart” is worthless in the face of curses. It’s either kill or be killed.
2.) “I’m at my best!”
A simple quote but one of her prominent ones as she realized she had so much potential during this moment. While training with a strong ally, he gave her numerous lessons to stop trying to keep at the same pace as others and to fully let loose. During a conversation with young sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu, Maki shares her history with her family and how disappointed they are in her. Yet despite their hatred towards the “failure of the Zenin Clan”, Maki has worked hard to escape the bottom of the barrel and has proved numerous times she doesn’t need that pathetic clan. She tells Yuta that if she simply let them walk all over her knowing better than anyone else about her future potential, she would’ve hated herself more than anyone.

Also during the conversation with Yuta Okkotsu, Maki reveals her little plan to crush the Zenin Clan.
