On March 13, student volunteers from Greater Nanticoke Area High School read to elementary students and donated their time and effort to raise awareness for Mikayla’s Voice.
According to the website, Mikayla’s Voice is a “non-profit organization that includes kids of all abilities. Their mission is to ensure that all children feel valued and welcomed in their school and community ~ and to understand that it’s their responsibility to help others feel the same.”
Mikayla’s Voice challenges kids to create a kinder, more inclusive world where everyone has a friend.
“Mikayla’s Voice has always celebrated diversity of all kinds, promoting kindness and friendship for everyone. What started with one child, was never just about her or her disabilities. Mikayla’s Voice transcends all differences and truly speaks to everyone. Mikayla herself never spoke a word, but hers is a voice we all need to hear.”
