Gojo Satoru has been a beloved character of all of Jujutsu Kaisen and continues to be a fan favorite amongst all levels of fans for the whole series. His goofy nature makes for humorous relief throughout the anime but he can also be extremely serious when he has to. His seriousness results in some of his most famous quotes being in those moments. So here are 6 of Gojo Satoru’s most famous and deepest quotes I could find throughout the anime.
1.) “Love is the most twisted curse of all.”
In Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Satoru Gojo witnesses how love has affected both Yuta and Rika’s fates. After all, Rika is a curse born out of love.
Here, Gojo is a man who has seen many tragedies throughout his life that built him into who he is today. Tragedies like losing his best friend, Geto Suguru, were life-changing for him. So, to him, just like Yuta, love was a twisted curse that hurt him.
2.) “Won’t it get lonely all by yourself?”
Early in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, Yuta finds himself in a similar position as Yuji in season 1. He is there due to his attempted suicide, which was fueled by him being unable to control a curse attached to him, that has been attacking others.
Satoru Gojo will then ask him to come and attend Tokyo Jujutsu High as, that way, he would learn to control the curse that has pushed him to harm himself and instead harness its power. When Yuta refuses, Gojo asks him if he’ll get lonely all by himself. With Gojo’s message reaching him, he ends up going to Tokyo High School.
3.) “I’m the strongest there is.”
Satoru Gojo is quite easily one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s most powerful characters, if not the most powerful character. As a Special Grade Sorcerer and thanks to his ability to use both Six Eyes and Limitless, this man has no rivals worthy of confronting him other than Sukuna. Whenever he’s on screen, fans know what the outcome of the fight will be. This level of power is why Kenjaku wanted to steal him away, as most curses have no hope against Satoru.
When he’s around, fans know that the other characters are safe, hence “It’ll be fine. I’m the strongest there is, after all,” is a perfect quote to showcase Gojo’s sheer strength and the reassurance his presence can bring to others.
4.) “Dying to win and risking death to win are completely different.”
Satoru Gojo has always been one to win a fight in jaw-dropping ways. He’s always trying to fight strong opponents, who rarely even stand a chance against him.
Megumi, on the other hand, is always someone who risks death to win. By telling him “Dying to win and risking death to win are completely different, Megumi.” Gojo is pushing him to value his life more, and while being self-sacrificing can be noble, he shouldn’t throw his life away when he can push himself to his limits and improve by persevering.
5.) “When you die, you’ll be alone.”
During a game of baseball, Megumi prioritizes teamwork and willingly gives Nobara the chance to hit the bases. While in theory, teamwork should be praised, Gojo has a different perspective on the matter. He believes that as a sorcerer, self-preservation should be the priority and tells Megumi that “no matter how many allies you have around you when you die, you’ll be alone.”
The life of a sorcerer is not easy and one must save themselves before thinking of their allies and fellow sorcerers. Teamwork is not useless but only comes after oneself.
6.) “I alone am the honored one.”
Currently, “In all the heavens and the earth, I alone am the honored one” is perhaps the most iconic line Satoru Gojo has ever spoken in Jujutsu Kaisen. While many might regard this line as arrogance on Gojo’s part, the line is nothing but truth in regard to his unmatched power.
Satoru Gojo is the only person in the last 400 years who has inherited both the Six Eyes and Limitless. With both of these abilities at his disposal, almost no one can challenge him, making him truly an honored one – a born prodigy with little to no rivals. This quote is a direct reference to Buddha, who proclaimed himself the same, and World-Honored One is one of his honorific titles.
