Music has been a significant part of not only my but almost everyone’s life. Musical artists have created multiple masterpieces that people from all around the world enjoy, with numerous new and old genres releasing new music every single day. Some music artists have made their way to the top with their singing voices, instrumentals, and ability to relate to their audience.
With that being said, here’s a top 10 list of the most amazing and loveable music artists from 2023; based on Spotify’s readings.
10.) Post Malone
At number 10 we have Post Malone, who’s been in the music industry for a hot minute. By mid-2017, Post Malone was barely known until the explosion of his song “Rockstar.” With 5 albums under his belt, he’s truly claiming his spot as number 10 on the charts, with new albums and songs released every so often. He’s also made popular appearances in movie soundtracks, like Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse, with his world-famous song, “Sunflower.” Songs like “Circles, Wow, Psycho, Better Now, and Goodbyes” are all just as popular songs that have made his career explode in popularity and continue to carry him in 2023.
9.) BTS
At number 9 we have BTS, the world-famous Korean boy band consisting of 7 members loved by fans alike. Their members consist of Rm, Suga, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, and V, with RM being the leader of their band. They are all active solo vocalists as well but are at their best when they’re together. With some popular albums like, “Dark & Wild, Love Yourself: Tear, BE, Map of the Soul: 7, and Map of the Soul: Persona” they have reached the billions in streams and continue to awe their audience with their loveable looks, high energy, and colorful pop music.
8.) Eminem
When it comes to the name Eminem, who doesn’t know who this guy is? From his role in 8 Mile, multiple albums, his high-speed rapping skills, and his iconic nickname of Slim Shady, this guy has made a massive boom in the music industry and keeps high numbers to this day. His first breakthrough in the music industry, “The Slim Shady LP,” caused his popularity to skyrocket. A year later he released “The Marshall Mathers LP.” and sold over 1.78 million copies. From new songs, albums, EPs, and whatever else the artist has contributed to, he hasn’t shown signs of slowing down and he’s number 8 for that very reason.
7.) Justin Bieber
Starting as an already famous teen singer, Justin Bieber made his breakthrough in the music industry and continues to steal the hearts of millions around the globe. Starting his career with his EP, “My World” and later extending into “My World 2.0,” he instantly became the famous singer we know today. Later on, he released his Christmas-themed album, “Under the Mistletoe,” and his popularity went up even more. The young phenomenon didn’t stop there, however, dropping album after album and even collaborating with big artists like Daddy Yankee and Ariana Grande. As the years go on, he continues to leave his mark in the music industry world and maintains his number 7 spot.
6.) Ariana Grande
Let’s be honest, who doesn’t know the world-famous Ariana Grande? From her passionate and loving singing voice to her Christmas vibes making the holiday all the better, to even her old performances in shows, Ariana has done it all. Ariana has made multiple albums with numerous songs fans fell in love with, like “Positions, Thank U Next, Yours Truly, and Sweetener.” All these albums along with some select songs have made her popularity skyrocket as the years went on. Some of her most famous songs, “7 Rings, Thank U Next, God is a Woman, and Break Up with Your Girlfriend” have made serious imprints on the music industry and she has a solid reason to claim her spot as number 6.
5.) Ed Sheeran
Is there even 1 person who hasn’t heard an Ed Sheeran song on the radio or during their musical travels? Ed Shareen is the living definition of pop music and his fans adore him for that very reason. From his catchy beats to his memorizing voice, Ed Shareen has it all. With his most famous album “Divide” making his name world known, Ed Shareen has created many bangers for us to listen and enjoy to, maintaining constant new content pretty often. Ed Shareen has also collaborated with many artists to keep things spicy, with my personal favorite being “Everything Has Changed” with Taylor Swift. Many songs like “Perfect, Shape of You, Thinking Out Loud, The A-Team, and Castle on the Hill” are just some definitions of his best music, most of them coming from his hit album Divide. Ed Shareen maintains a special place in many fans’ hearts and that’s why he’s still maintaining his high number 5 spot.
4.) The Weekend
Known mainly for his hit songs “Starboy, Blinding Lights, and Die For You,” The Weekend came out of thin air and delivered amazing song after amazing song. Being able to collaborate on rap songs like “Low Life” with popular rapper artist, Future, to being able to hold his own in his pop-like genre, The Weekend certainly has made a spot for himself over the years. 2018-2020 certainly being his best years, The Weekend dropped memorable songs that blew up over the internet overnight, which are still loved to this day. Popular albums such as “Starboy, After Hours, Kiss Land, and Dawn FM” took the internet by storm and allowed The Weekend to continue creating such awesome music for us. He even got an opportunity to work on the soundtrack for Avatar: The Way Of The Water, which is such an impressive feature for how popular that movie was. With all his skill and singing skills, it’s no wonder The Weekend is maintaining his number 4 spot, rightfully so.
3.) Taylor Swift
Realiscally speaking I don’t even need to say much. Taylor Swift is the female music artist of our generation and all those who came before us. Taylor Swift is loved by so many fans and her concerts speak for themselves. Sadly enough, Taylor’s music was stolen from her, but that did not stop her in the slightest. She continued to make music, collaborate with popular artists, and even release new versions of all her old songs, hence the name “Taylor’s Version.” Popular albums like “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) Midnights, Red (Taylor’s Version), and Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” have made exceptional marks on the music industry and her fans adore her. Speaking of albums being revamped, recently Taylor released her popular album “1989” once more but this time, it’s her version. As she continues to steal the hearts of many people and support her fans, her popularity will only rise from here. From her heartfelt messages to her relatable experiences, everyone can find a bit of Taylor to love, making her number 3 spot rightfully deserved.
2.) Bad Bunny
The man, the myth, and the absolute legend, Bad Bunny is by far the most deserving of his number 2 spot. He’s the Spanish rapper/singer of the generation and many more before that. Trust me, ask anyone and they will assure you that Bad Bunny is up there on their list. Collaborations with many artists like Cardi B, Anuel A, Daddy Yankee, and other Spanish artists have only contributed to Bad Bunny’s endless fame. Popular albums like “YHLQMDLG, OASIS, Un Verano Sin Ti, and X 100PRE” are only a few examples of all the amazing albums he’s released by his own skill and hard work. His most famous songs “Titi Me Pregunto, Me Porto Bonito, LA CANCION, and Te Bote” have made his Spanish prodigy skyrocket up the charts, appealing to Latin families across the world. My personal family loves Bad Bunny and they have good reason to, with him releasing music that becomes radio popular within days. There’s no surprise he’s number 2 in the world, and although the others on this list are good, Bad Bunny is only going up from here on.

No shocker here that the man who has collaborated with every single rapper on the planet is number 1, not to mention being mainstream popular all his life. Drake’s career took off in 2009 with his album “So Far Gone” and everything just went up from there. Popular albums like “Thank Me Later, Take Care, Nothing Was the Same If You’re Reading This It’s Already Too Late, and What a Time to Be Alive” are just some of the albums that steadily increased Drake’s popularity throughout the years. Come 2018, Drake released “Scorpion” one of his most popular and successful albums of all time. After this, Drake was nothing but a rising star, passing off several other popular artists at the time like Kendrick Lamar, Pop Smoke, and many more. The reason for his popularity many people believe is his ability to rap or sing on any beat, not to mention with literally anyone. Also, the simple fact that Drake releases a song or an album every single year. He never stops dropping music and his fans couldn’t be happier. Drake is also caught up with all the newest rappers, collaborating with them any chance he gets. The most prominent example is his song with popular generational rapper Yeat. Although his verse got turned into a meme, that meme simply made Drake all the more popular. All these constant streams of popularity and fame have earned Drake his number 1 spot and he continues to maintain that spot to this very day.
