Electric-powered school bus grant awarded to GNA
NANTICOKE, PA — On Monday, April 24th, 2023, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sent Administrator Michael S. Reagan to join Greater Nanticoke Area High School students for a conference to publicly announce the $6 million in funding for 15 new electric-powered school buses. Along with Administrator Reagan, the high school hosted Senior Advisor to the White House Mitch Landrieu, Representative Matt Cartwright, and Senator Bob Casey.
Grants like these are possible under President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure law. Electric-powered automobiles are aimed at improving air quality, saving money, creating good-paying jobs that benefit the environment, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
GNA was proud to host such honorable members of the United States government. Here’s to a cleaner and more protected environment for all!
