Spider-Man: Far From Home

Today I will be doing a spoiler-free review of Spider-Man: Far From Home. I thought this was a pretty good movie and found it pretty enjoyable to watch. This is the only Spider-Man movie to not take place in New York, as Peter Parker is on a class trip in Europe. I honestly didn’t love the fact that they weren’t in NYC but I got the idea of trying something new. This movie takes place not too long after Avengers: Endgame with Peter dealing with everything that happened. I thought the plot of this movie was alright but nothing too special. The main reason I liked this movie was because of its enjoyability with great action sequences, really good cinematography, and just Spider-Man being Spider-Man which is always really fun to watch. MJ is still the love interest throughout the film and I think their relationship is pretty good. There’s also Peter’s best friend Ned who is a very good comedic relief but isn’t used too much.

The villain in this movie is Mysterio, played by one of my favorite actors ever in Jake Gyllenhall. He is a very good villain and the acting is spot on between him and Spider-Man. Overall he is probably one of the best marvel villains just because of how well he is portrayed and how good the acting is. The acting of Tom Holland as Spider-Man is also very good and I’ve always loved the way he plays Peter/Spider-Man. There are also some small cameos in the movie, the big one being Nick Fury towards the beginning which is what gets everything going. I enjoyed the ending a lot and it really sets up the next movie in a massive way.

I always rate the marvel movies and I rate them based on 10 things in the movie. Those things are: action, acting, cinematography, pacing, score, characters, ending, plot, protagonist, and antagonist. I rate all of those pieces 1-10 and then after that, I add up the scores of all 10 of them and get a total score out of 100. I gave this movie a 88/100, just a very good and enjoyable movie with nothing that stands out as really bad, but nothing that stands out as amazing besides the hero and the villain.
