GNA Success Stories – Jaclyn Victor

Get to know Ms. Victor, former college and career advisor here at GNA

“I don’t see being successful as a one-time destination, but rather a journey. To me, I believe I’ve achieved success because I continually strive to be the best version of myself. From my time as a GNA student until now, I have grown both personally and professionally, despite facing the inevitable setbacks.

Along this journey, I have been afforded many great opportunities. In addition to working for America250PA, the Pennsylvania Department of State, Pennsylvania Governor’s Office, and Pennsylvania House of Representatives, I have been able to meet some pretty influential people, like Governor Tom Wolf, President Biden, and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Growing up, I didn’t see myself represented in the media, or even in our community. Thankfully, in recent years, we have seen more diversity in NEPA. Through my story, I want other young people to see themselves in me and inspire them to believe they could achieve anything they put their minds to.

After graduating from King’s College in 2019, I planned to seek employment in Harrisburg. However, I just so happened to see a Facebook post from Ms. Muench, regarding the College and Career Adviser position at GNA. I decided to accept the position because I thought about how impactful it would’ve been to have someone helping me navigate life after high school, and I wanted to give back to the community that helped shape me.

Additionally, I created the “Justin J. Victor Legacy Award,” which is in memory of my dad. It is given to a Greater Nanticoke Area senior who has exemplified perseverance and strength, despite personal challenges. The recipient also demonstrates kindness and generosity in an effort to improve the lives of those within his/her community.

Now, as the Director of Partnership and Engagement, I foster strong relations with stakeholders, from across Pennsylvania, as we prepare for the Semiquincentennial in 2026! I would also love to run for political office in the future to create meaningful and positive change.”
