Wilkes-Barre native Mark Glowinski signs 3-year, $20 million dollar contract with New York Giants

WILKES-BARRE – Former GAR student-athlete Mark Glowinski has finalized a deal with the NFL’s New York Giants. He will fill the team’s desperate need for a franchise Guard.

Glowinski grew up in Wilkes-Barre. He attended GAR (now WBA), where he played several positions on the OL. Glowinski’s High School Football success would find him playing at the Division II level for Lackawanna College. Eventually, Glowinski would transfer to West Virginia University, where he would play for the remainder of his College Football career.

Mark Glowinski was selected with the 134th pick (4th round) of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, where he would play until late 2017. Glowinski was claimed off of waivers by the Indianapolis Colts not long after being waived by the Seahawks. Glowinski would thrive with the Colts, starting for the team in each of his years with the team.

In January 2019, Glowinski signed a 3-year, $18 million dollar extension with the Colts. Glowinski was a key part of the Indianapolis Colts offensive lines tremendous success in 2019. In Glowinski’s contract years, the Colts Offensive line ranked 3rd (2019), 7th (2020), and 12th (2021). Today, Glowinski signs his third NFL contract — a 3-year, $20 million dollar deal.

Mark Glowinski becomes the first Luzerne County native to sign a multi-million dollar NFL contract. He is only the third NFL player of Luzerne County citizenship.
