‘Childhood Dreams’

Jazmine Trathen

Moon Lake trail – the place that inspired ‘Childhood Dreams.’

I once was a child; free and bright

Now I’m me

“But who is that?” you ask

Well…

I truly only have wishes that I must foresee

I could be anything and do anything

But I’m sure whom I want to be

Maybe a doctor?

Maybe a teacher?

Maybe a cop?

You see I’m not sure of who I am; I just hope when the time comes

I’m free and happy

Because my sunshine is peeking through the gray clouds

And my story has just begun.

-I wrote this poem, and it is about growing older and still being unsure about what I want to do with my life.
