Varsity soccer team advances to round two
Tuesday night was a night for the books. It was almost an exact reenactment of last year’s round 1 district playoff game, also against Dunmore. The varsity soccer team traveled up the road to take on the Bucks. They finished their season 9-3, leaving them close to the top of their division, ultimately setting an immense burden for our Trojans to conquer.
The game began with quick back-to-back attacks and counter-attacks. We knew from the start that the game was going to be a battle.
Eight minutes into the game, we finally broke through the back line of Dunmore. Adam Eckhart intercepted a throw in from the opponent and left the ball in the back of the net.
Another thirteen minutes passed before Adam Eckhart once again broke through the backline of the Bucks and left another pass to the far post in the net.
The Trojans finished the game 5-0 against the Bucks of Dunmore, with Adam scoring all 5 goals to his 8 shots. Evan Stecco and Isaiah Johnson also finished the game with an assist a piece, and goalkeeper, Trahjan Krupinski, finishing with 8 saves.
The Trojans advance to round 2 of the District III playoff tournament, going against Wyoming Seminary at their home field on Thursday, October 26.
