GNA CAMPUS- The Newton Math Contest is an annual math competition that is hosted by King’s College. This year, a group of GNA students took part in it, ready to compete for the $500 scholarship that is awarded to one student from every school.

The recipient from GNA,  junior Taylor Bartle, won the award for demonstrating her understanding of mathematics.

Below is an interview that The GNA Insider conducted with her:

How did you win the $500 scholarship to King’s College? How did it feel to win?

I took a multiple-choice test, and I received the highest score from all of the students from our school. I was not expecting to win, but I was very excited when they announced my name.

Do you have any interest in attending King’s College? If not, where would you like to go?

I really have no idea what I want to do or where I want to go to school, but King’s is definitely a possibility.

Have you attended any other math competitions before this one?

This is the first academic competition I have ever attended.

Is math your favorite subject in school?

Yes.

What major do you plan on studying in college? What do you hope to become?

I am currently undecided, but I am most likely going into the medical field.
