Haunted places, scary attractions to visit in October
PENNSYLVANIA- Would you like to see something strange? Come with us to see these bone-chilling, spine-tingling, goosebump-raising, haunted attractions.
Pennhurst Asylum- Spring City
Want a little more than a spook? How about a real-life ghost hunt? Pennhurst Asylum welcomes you to take your time in the Mayflower After Dark, the last attraction and the only self-guided tour. This wing of the infamous building has been featured on both Ghost Adventures and Ghost Hunters! But if searching for spirits isn’t your thing, you can go through the facility’s other three attractions: Containment, Morgue, and PennHurst. Check out their website: https://pennhurstasylum.com/
Reaper’s Revenge- Scranton
This hayride isn’t all fun and games, and it doesn’t stop there. Take a trek through the Reaper’s forest, find your way through a pitch-black maze, and escape through the zombie apocalypse, if you dare. Start with the Haunted Hayride, where you’ll meet terrifying creatures in the dark, twisted forest. Then, if you survive, step right up to the Lost Carnival. Are you afraid of clowns? Maybe you should be. Did you bring a flashlight? You won’t be needing it in Pitch Black, the darkest, creepiest maze in Pennsylvania. If you make it out, head over to Sector 13, a cannibal-zombie-mutant maze. Are you brave enough to survive? https://reapersrevenge.net/
Jason’s Woods- Lancaster
Jason’s Woods includes five different attractions, each more terrifying than the last. Ride the Haunted Hayride; explore the Chamber of Horrors; survive the Zombie Apocalypse; take a nice, calming walk through Jason’s Woods; and escape the clowns in the mazes of the Carnival of Fear. https://jasonswoods.com/
Sleepy Hollow Hayride- Newtown
After taking a relaxing trip on the Haunted Hayride, be sure to explore the House on the Hill and the Field of Fright; take some time to sit around the bonfire with friends and families for a pleasant discussion (and the occasional spook!) https://sleepyhollowhayride.com/
Field of Screams- Lancaster
Hayrides aren’t enough? The Field of Screams has five different bone-chilling attractions: a zombie fun-run and escape games. Make your way through the Den of Darkness, check yourself into the Frightmare Asylum, survive the Nocturnal Wasteland’s demented beings, and delve into darkness in Extreme Blackout!
Terror Behind the Walls- Philadelphia
A must-see haunted house is the Terror Behind the Walls at the Eastern State Penitentiary. A real prison with six terrifying attractions! Can you survive the Blood Yard, Infirmary, Lock-Down, Break-Out, Quarantine, and Machine Shop? https://www.easternstate.org/halloween/node/3
