GNA to hold barrel burn in place of bonfire
GNA CAMPUS- Due to unforeseen circumstances, the annual bonfire will be replaced with a barrel burn for the 2019-2020 GNA homecoming event.
During homecoming week, the seniors on the teams will receive a barrel to decorate. Then, during the barrel-burning ceremony, each team will light it on fire.
The pep rally, which is usually held in the high school gym, will now be held on the football field on the night of Thursday, September 19, prior to the barrel burn.
Vendors will again be stationed in the football stadium during the day’s festivities, allowing all attendees to purchase food and beverages. The vendors that will be attending include Uncle Buck’s BBQ, Murt’s Deserts, Murt’s Mobile Diner, Grateful Roast, and TNT Subs and More. In addition, the Brownie Troop 32114 will be providing games for children and will also be painting faces.
Concluding the night will be the annual homecoming dance, which will be held on the blue side of the high school cafeteria. GNA students from grades 9 through 12 are welcome. The dance will kick off at 7:30 and will end at 9:00.
