Oct. 2-Oct. 6, 5A Lunch Periods FAFSA Kickoff Week (student-based event)
FAFSA week aims to increase the number of our students who file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Ms. Jarman will have a table at 5A lunch each day during this week. Each day she will help students complete FSA IDs which is the first step required for filing the FAFSA. As incentive, each student who creates an FSAID during FAFSA Week will be entered in a raffle to win a prize. Raffle winners will be announced during Friday afternoon announcements.
Oct. 2 8th Period: College Essay & Resume Writing Workshop (student-based event)
Ms. Jarman and Ms. Hyder will be hosting a workshop to assist seniors in crafting and editing college essays and/or resumes.
Oct. 24, 6:30 PM: FAFSA Completion Evening (student & parent event)
Ms.Jarman and a financial aid counselor from King’s College will be on hand to help students and parents complete the FAFSA and PHEAA applications.
Oct. 25, 9:00-11:00 AM (tentative date — can be rescheduled): College Application Day Pt.1 (student-based event)
This event aims to prepare students for College Application Day by helping them start applications and craft personal statements. These steps will allow more students to receive instant admission decisions on College Application Day. Students will sign up for a time slot to meet with Ms. Jarman in the computer lab.
