First annual Purple Paws Walk
The Domestic Violence Service Center is an organization that provides resources for victims of domestic assault and abuse.
This year, it is hosting its first annual Purple Paws Walk to raise money for the residents it serves. The walk will be held in Wilkes-Barre’s Kirby Park on Saturday, April 13th, with registration beginning at 9:00 a.m., a dog costume contest at 10:00 a.m., and the walk around the area at 10:15 a.m. The event will include purchasable refreshments, a basket raffle, vendors selling pet items, 50/50 ticket raffle, the Double Trouble D’s, guest speakers, and a resource table.
The event’s participation is $20 per family; all dogs must have a leash, be up-to-date on shots, and be well-behaved.
More information can be found on the Purple Paws Walk 2019 Facebook page.
