Self-defense class offered by Junior Leadership Wilkes-Barre
Junior Leadership Wilkes-Barre is a non-profit organization centered on teaching juniors in high school the importance of giving back to our community and helping preserve it.
The Junior Leadership group, Baskets for a New Beginning, including: (Samantha Aben, Lake Lehman; Alena Carabetta, Pittston Area; Kelsey Evans, Coughlin; Genevieve Gorham, Hanover Area; Kaleigh Hamm, Greater Nanticoke Area; Lauren Kozicki, Holy Redeemer; Alexander Meuser, Wyoming Valley Seminary; Sam Nocito, Dallas; and Josh Woodworth, WBASD STEM Academy) will offer a self-defense class on Thursday, April 25th from 8:15 to 9:15 p.m. and Saturday, April 27th, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. This self-defense class will take place at Huntzinger’s Karate, 738 Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard, Wilkes-Barre. The price of the class is 20 dollars per person, and the proceeds from the event will go to the group’s community service project, which is making baskets of household items for the residents of the Domestic Violence Service Center.
