Getting to know our staff: Miss Rozelle

What are your hobbies outside of school?  

Going to the movies, watching movies, drinking coffee, going out to eat, reading, singing in the car, playing with my pets.

What is something people don’t know about you?

I have four pet rabbits.

If you could meet one person, living or dead, who would it be? Why?

 Audrey Hepburn- She was an amazing actress and humanitarian. Audrey Hepburn and I also shared a birthday, May 4th.

What is your favorite band – or – who is your favorite singer?

(I can’t just pick one)  I love many- Amy Winehouse, Pink, Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz,most music from the 1960’s- Janis Joplin, The DOORS, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, broadway, gospel, jazz, R&B, rap (mostly 90’s rap and R&B).

What is your favorite song of all time?

I don’t think I can pick just one.

Where is your favorite place to eat?

Nana’s Pasta House.

What is the most unique place you’ve ever visited? Why?

Tennessee and Iowa, because the people are really friendly in both places.

Do you have any pets? If so, what are they?

Yes, four rabbits and they all have coffee names- Latte, Doppio, Java, and Bean.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Bullying (people picking on others who are weaker).

What inspired you to become a teacher?

I always enjoyed helping my classmates who didn’t understand what we were being taught in high school.  I especially enjoyed helping people who needed help and weren’t comfortable asking teachers for it.

What do you like most about teaching?  

I enjoy making learning fun, worthwhile, and purposeful.  I love finding ways of motivating students, especially those who don’t typically enjoy traditional school.  I also find it extremely rewarding when I hear success stories about my former students.

What is your biggest piece of advice for students?  

Find your passion and follow it! Don’t just follow the path you think you’re “expected to follow.”
