Coach Grant to lead Trojanettes

Former Assistant Coach, Ed Grant, was named as the new girls basketball coach on Thursday, May 10th, 2018.

The GNA Insider sat down with the newly named Head Coach of the Trojanettes.

How long have you been coaching?

This upcoming season will be my 11th season.

What made you apply for the head coaching position?

Being able to carry on the strong Nanticoke tradition is an opportunity you cannot pass up. The dedication from past and present Trojans and Trojanettes is something many programs in the area can envy.

How does it feel to be named head coach of the Trojanettes?

I am very excited and proud to be able to lead a proud tradition. If you want to be a high school basketball head coach, this is the place you want to do it.  The community support is fantastic and the players have a strong understanding of the dedication and tradition that go along with Nanticoke basketball.

Is there anything that you would like to implement into the program early on?

As a staff we will be looking forward to passing on the Trojanette Way and continuing to implement our strong defensive presence each day.

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

Our goals will be similar.  We look to grow as a basketball family and improve our skills each day, while representing our community at a high level.  We will aim at our league and district titles, and target a return to the state tournament.

Would you like to say anything to younger girls coming up in the program?

Continue to take pride in the Nanticoke tradition, keep your goals high in everything you do, and be ready to carry on the Trojanette Way.
