La’Kiah Cooper, Student Writer
My name is La’kiah Cooper, and I am in my junior year at GNA!
This is my first year in journalism. I am a member of the National Honor Society and the secretary of the GNA Art Club. Outside of school, I am a competitive equestrian, participating in local competitions and rated shows. I ride in the Hunter/Jumper discipline using my trainer’s lesson horse, whom I have turned into a local champion, and we are competitive in the larger world of showing.
I am also an artist who takes equine portrait commissions and creates custom artwork, selling locally and shipping worldwide. In addition, I enjoy writing short stories and creating outlines for novellas that I plan to write. I love reading fantasy and science fiction books, drawing a lot of inspiration from the stories I’ve read. Music-wise, I have a passion for 90s and early 2000s hip-hop.
In the near future, I plan to go pro in the equestrian world and ride continuously with the hopes of one day making the US Equestrian team. I dream of one day owning a large equine facility and having my own brand.
