Fashion is taking over the world. Everywhere we look, we see the newest trends and the most “in” looks. Influences like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are evolving the fashion community daily. Style inspiration is created from multiple social media platforms such as Instagram and even YouTube. Fashion motivation can derive from anything – it just depends where you look.

Fashion capitals of the world rule the creation of trends – like New York, NY and Milan, Italy. Events like New York Fashion Week take place annually in mid-late February. This week goes down in history each year. People from all over the world fly in to see their favorite designers walk the runway, including Alexander Wang, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, and countless others.

Other countries also have weeks devoted to nothing but clothing and accessories as well. London and Milan Fashion weeks are among the most popular aside from New York City.

Not only do we as a society get inspiration from shows, but celebrity street wear as well. Young and upcoming stars like Olivia Jade and Summer McKeen offer a look at the latest trends and guidelines when it comes to clothing and accessories.  They both began their careers on social media making videos on YouTube about beauty and fashion. Their channels have grown to hundreds of thousands of followings. Social media has one of the largest roles in current day trends and fads.

One aspect of the industry that is sadly going downhill is magazine production. Brands like Vogue, Seventeen, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan, and many more have taken a direct hit on sales. This is due to social media and other means of finding out the latest celebrity style and trends. Thankfully so, these companies have websites that launched and social media accounts that blossomed, so their ideas are able come across to many viewers.

Fashion is an ever changing world. Keeping up with the latest trends is a big job to do. No matter what, it is important to keep to your original style and ways. Always be yourself, no matter the standards.
