Getting to know out staff: Mrs. Pray

What are your hobbies outside of school?

Spending time with my daughter and husband, shopping, and photography.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I love Christmas. I put up three trees filled with Hallmark ornaments. I’ve been collecting ornaments since I was born.

If you could meet one person, living or dead, who would it be? Why?

I would like to meet my grandfather again. He passed away when I was in college. I would love to introduce him to my daughter and just spend one more day with him.

What is your favorite band – or – who is your favorite singer?

Bon Jovi

What is your favorite song of all time?

All Bon Jovi songs, I can’t pick one. Also all Christmas music.

What is your favorite place to eat?

Mizu

What is the most unique place you’ve ever visited? Why?

Walt Disney World. I am a Disney addict! It’s the happiest place on Earth! I enjoy spending time with my family while we are there.

Do you have any pets? If so, what are they?

A dog named Cici. She is 14 and a Shih Tzu.

What is the most outrageous thing that has happened to you while teaching?

Many years ago, while teaching students about research and the library, one student raised his hand and said “Mrs. Pray, here have you been my whole life?” He appreciated the information I provided.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

I don’t enjoy people smoking around me.

What inspired you to become a teacher?

My 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Malia. She was simply the best. Today, I am lucky to have her as a friend.

What do you like most about teaching?

I enjoy spending time in the high school and I watch you grow up. The changes are amazing.

What is your biggest piece of advice for students?

Always be your best! Make good choices. Do the right thing.
