What inspired you to become a teacher?
For the fame and fortune, of course.
What do you like most about teaching?
What I like most about teaching is watching students grow – not just in knowledge, but in confidence. It’s rewarding to see them connect ideas, ask deeper questions, and realize they’re capable of more than they thought.
What is your biggest piece of advice for students?
My biggest advice is to take responsibility for your own learning. Ask questions, stay organized, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. They’re part of the process.
If you could teach another subject, what would it be?
If I could teach another subject, it would be Creative Writing. I love writing, and it would be wonderful to encourage students to find that same joy through written expression.
What is something unique most people don’t know about you?
Most people may not know that I am a cancer survivor. This obviously changed my life forever, but not in all bad ways. I definitely have a greater appreciation for the small joys in life that I did not recognize in the past.

Outside of school, my hobbies are scrapbooking, writing, and photography.
Do you have any pets? If so, what are they?

What is your biggest pet peeve?
My biggest pet peeve is when I give directions, and 5 seconds later someone asks the exact question I just answered.
How many years have you been teaching?
This is my 20th year teaching.
What is the craziest thing you’ve encountered while teaching?
One of the craziest things I encountered while teaching was when a student brought a stray cat they found on their way to school into my classroom. Of course, we were distracted all day. The good news is that my sister ended up adopting the sweet little angel!
