NANTICOKE – The Greater Nanticoke Area School District welcomed students and families back to school in style on Saturday, August 16, with its first-ever Back-to-School Bash. The event, held on school grounds, brought the community together for an afternoon filled with games, activities, and plenty of fun.
Children of all ages enjoyed a variety of games. Families gathered to reconnect with teachers, classmates, and neighbors as the district celebrated the start of a new school year.
“This event is all about building excitement and easing the transition back to school,” said Amy Scibek, principal of the Greater Nanticoke Area High School. “It’s a chance for our students to see that school is not only about learning but also about community and friendship.”

In addition to children’s games, families enjoyed music, refreshments, crafts, informational booths, and giveaways.
The Back-to-School Bash has quickly become a tradition for the Greater Nanticoke Area, reflecting the district’s commitment to fostering school spirit and community pride.
As the first day of school approaches, Saturday’s event gave families a chance to come together, celebrate, and look forward to the year ahead.
