What’s the Difference between Criminology and Criminal Justice?
Criminology and criminal justice are similar but focus on different things.
Criminology is all about studying crime itself, like why people commit crimes, what causes it, and how it affects society. It digs into the reasons behind criminal behavior and looks at things like psychology and social issues.
On the flip side, criminal justice is more about how we deal with crime. It includes everything from police work to the court system and prisons. Basically, it’s about how laws are enforced and how criminals are prosecuted and punished.
So, while criminology tries to understand crime, criminal justice is all about the systems we have in place to handle it.
