Children are an enigma to some and straightforward to others. Caring for children is nonetheless difficult and a skill mastered with time and patience. But no matter how hard it is, teachers who are the most skilled have mastered the art of relationships with children. Here, I mention only a few of the amazing educators we have here at GNA.
To truly understand what teaching children is like, we must learn what a day in the life of these teachers is.
Ms. Barna states how busy she is as she has 3 circulating classes all day. She states how she is constantly moving and teaching everything under the sun. She also states how structure is extremely important for kids. As the day draws near and dismissal is close at hand, this is ever so prominent.
For Ms. View, a similar day is ahead of her. She states how teaching little ones keeps her busy day – all day. She is tasked with teaching young ones every subject they could ever need. And she does it beautifully. When posed with the question of why structure is important, she states a similar view as the rest. Structure is the glue that holds these kids’ schedules and moods together.
A similar thing is stated with Mrs. Carey, who has an overwhelming day herself, as she is also tasked with teaching multiple subjects to her kids. When children get upset, the whole day can be ruined for them. Meltdowns and tantrums are ever so prevalent to small ones.
Ms. Cunningham says that each kid is different. Each and every one of her kids has a different set of needs and personality, so when calming down a kid it can vary from deep breaths to full mental breaks.
Ms. Egenski states that most kids feel frustrated due to fatigue and tiredness. Sometimes, kids can be worn out throughout the day, and this, to her, is cause for a breather and reset.
Ms. Olzinski reports how kids can feel especially upset from lack of or out of a routine. To her, kids become more easily thrown out of shape when not following a schedule.
As the day wears on and stress can become unbearable, our amazing teachers use an array of methods to calm down and prevent outside problems from interfering with their teaching. Some keep active while others enjoy winding down and practicing self-care.
Whatever it is they use to reset and recollect, our teachers at GNA are fully committed to these kids and want and do nothing but care and nurture these small pupils into excellent human beings.
