As Valentine’s Day draws near, it can be hard to find what to do and give your loved one. Valentine’s Day doesn’t just apply to significant others; instead as you read this, keep in mind that these activities can apply for any of your loved ones.
To start us off, I want to introduce you to a craft sure to make anyone’s heart flutter, pipe cleaner flowers. While I know it sounds silly at first, these pipe cleaning flowers add a touch of whimsy and fun, not to mention it shows you care. As you make this quirky bouquet make sure to include some of your own creations, maybe a favorite flower or a bee applique. To do this, just twist pipe cleaners into the desired shape, twist them together or use hot glue to attach them together.
Another cute activity for you and your loved one is a picnic. Now I know it’s snowy and cold out, but what if you do an indoor one? Now hear me out; a picnic blanket on your living room floor, a spread of cheese and meat, some tea or sparkling cider, and some calm music in the background. This atmosphere can create a loving and cozy feel and can open up your heart for each other.
To cap us off I want to propose an oldie but a goody, a handwritten love letter. Fill this letter with poems and anecdotes on why you love them; share stories of good and bad times, high and low. Let them know why they matter to you. When your’e done spilling your heart onto paper, decorate this card with stickers, photos, drawings, and anything that you want.
As Valentine’s Day comes and goes, make sure your loved ones know how much they mean to you. Make sure love is not just taken but given, and let your heart be known and received.
