A group of high school students got an up-close look at what it takes to put together a live broadcast. Journalism students from Greater Nanticoke Area High School visited FOX56 to learn about careers in media, production, and marketing.

“I think it’s an opportunity that most people should get to experience. Especially if you want to go into broadcasting, then it’s really cool to look behind the scenes and see what’s going on,” said senior, Alex O’Looney.

The students toured the station and got hands-on experience with several parts of the operation, including the marketing and sales department, the master control room, the live sports production trailer, and, of course, the newsroom. They also heard from industry professionals about the different career paths available in broadcasting, content creation, and marketing.
