In 1971 or 15 B.C. (before Chester), there was a different Cheetos mascot, aka the Cheetos (originally spelled as Chee-tos) Mouse.
The Cheetos Mouse starred in a variety of short commercials, often parodying popular movies at the time, including the 1969 film Easy Rider. However, as iconic as his catches phrases, such as “dangerously cheesy” were, the 80s and 90s called for something different, someone more “chill” and fun for kids!
Chester Cheetah originally debuted in 1986 and has remained the Cheetos mascot until today in 2024, nearly 38 years later!
