The same question pops up every year: is it too early to decorate for Christmas? Most people put up Christmas decorations and their trees on November 1st. Here are some reasons it could be too early to decorate for Christmas.
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is one of the most important holidays on Earth because it was the day the Pilgrims Plymouth in Massachusetts. We feast and express our gratitude for a bountiful harvest in the cultures of both the Pilgrims who sailed from England in 1620 and the Native Americans they encountered. Many people who aren’t from America but still live there do not celebrate Thanksgiving because they have no idea what it is. They should at least put fall decorations out instead of Christmas.
Black Friday
Everyone who loves shopping knows of the famous holiday after Thanksgiving: Black Friday. Black Friday is when everything in a store is almost 50% off everything. Everyone could just do their Christmas shopping then and start getting their decorations for 50% off! Even though this may seem like a silly holiday with everyone running from store to store to get the best deals, it’s helpful to help you start decorating for Christmas.
Snow
Don’t you think Christmas decorations would look better in the snow rather than fallen leaves? Snow comes around near the beginning of December (which is when Christmas starts, by the way!) and would make any decoration outside look pretty and soft. Fallen leaves just make the snowman inflatables and snowflakes look out of place.
Month colors
Red and green are typically the colors of December because of Christmas and oranges and yellows for November because of Thanksgiving. If you put up decorations that are red and green, it seems as if you’re skipping November!
Skipping November
Even though you may be excited about Christmas, it just doesn’t seem right to skip a whole month, especially if that month contains a valuable holiday in it. No matter how hard you try, though, you’ll never be able to skip November. November will always remain on the calendar and Thanksgiving will always be a holiday. Halloween will be before Thanksgiving, not before Christmas. Christmas will always be after Thanksgiving, not before.
Those are some reasons why I think it is indeed too early to decorate for Christmas, but what are your thoughts? Did I change your thoughts on starting to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving this year or not?
