Diwali is the festival of light and dark, to be more specific the celebration of light defeating dark. It originated in Eastern Asia and is going to be celebrated on the 31 of this month.
On Diwali, people typically do Henna on themselves, which is a paste made from the Henna plant. It is crushed and pureed turning into a paste that when applied on the body and left to dry leaves a stain vibrant and beautiful lasting for a week or two.
Some snacks include Murukku, a sweet brown food that has a kick of spice to it. Drinks include a mango-like smoothie and more traditional East Asian delicacies. Diwali also includes sand art and dances of passion and storytelling.
To celebrate Diwali is to celebrate culture and diversity.
