FBLA Mentorship Trip in front of NEPA’rogi.

NANTICOKE – Are you considering starting your own business? Every entrepreneur has a starting point, and these businesses graciously offered the FBLA Club the chance to learn from their experiences and gain insights into launching their own enterprises.

Last year, the FBLA Club visited two businesses, and they kindly allowed us to interview them.

NEPA’rogi

We interviewed Megan, Jasmine, and Laura. Here are the insights we gained:

Why did you decide to start your own business?

Megan, Jasmine, and Laura.

NEPA’rogi started a food truck, but the demand was so high that they decided to move to a building. They also began using social media, and word of mouth spread.

How much money did you have to invest in your business?

Around $19,000.

How much did it cost to maintain your business (rent/labor/inventory)?

We still are kind of starting up and transitioning to a new property, so everything fluctuates.

How do you deal with competition?

No other business in the region solely focuses on perogies – it gives them the upper hand because they do them so well.

What qualities do you think a business owner should possess?

Problem-solving skills are a MUST. Also, one has to have the ability to adapt.
