Who was Bob Marley?
Marley is considered the father of reggae music. He was an amazing artist with beautiful meaning and purpose behind his music. He also played an important role in Jamaica’s politics and was an unofficial ambassador. With his music and important voice, he called for peace and wanted nothing but for everyone to get along and to make the world a better place.
What happened to him?
On May 11, 1981, he passed away from acral lentiginous melanoma, a very rare type of skin cancer. He thought nothing much of it at first and thought it was nothing but a small injury from a previous soccer match. He was diagnosed in 1977 but it was too late and spread to the rest of his body when he got treatment and help.
