GNA CAMPUS – Valentine’s Day is a holiday in February dedicated to people expressing their love and feelings for each other.
GNA’s Key Club, throughout February, sent out students to decorate teachers’ doors naming it ‘Love-Bombing.’
Day by day, different teachers throughout the school found their doors covered in red, pink, and hearts for the holiday, which were then taken down and moved on to a different teacher’s door later on. This was a short but sweet explosion of the essence of Valentine’s Day.
We asked Ms. Hyder her reasoning for starting this project.
“We’re trying to show some love to our teachers, who often go unnoticed and unappreciated. We want to make their day more pleasant, even just a little bit.”
Ms. Hyder succeeded in what she set out to do, Love-Bombing doors served to inspire the recipients. The following teachers had this reaction,
Mr. Carey said, “It feels nice to be appreciated by your students!”
Mrs. Harbaugh said, “I think Love-Bombing is a fabulous idea. Seeing the entrance to my room decorated made me feel special! I hope the project continues!”
Mr. Litch said, “I felt appreciated. Anything that spreads positivity is worthwhile.”
The doors that were bombed were Mrs. Harbaugh, Mr. Stetz, Mr. Carey, Mr. David Prushinski, Mr. Mikulski, Mr. Yenji, Mrs. Rubal, Mrs. Larson, Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Dennis, Mr. Litch, and many, many more!
